In this sixth consecutive year of giving, Audio & Braille Literacy Enhancement, (ABLE), has again received an annual grant from the Catholic Community Foundation. The Catholic Community Foundation (legaciesoffaith.org) is making a difference in the lives of blind and visually impaired children by giving these children an equal playing field in which to participate fully in their academic classes through having braille materials at the same time as their sighted peers.
“I don’t know what I would have done without help from ABLE. The team works closely with me to make sure that I have the assignments on time, and in the format that works best for my students. The braille and graphics are excellent. ABLE goes out of their way to meet our needs no matter what the request. It could be math, physics or a chapter book, doesn’t matter what the request is. Thank you, ABLE.”
– Jane Moran, Wisconsin Teacher of the Visually Impaired, speaking of the experience of her elementary and high school students.
To receive this grant in our 56th year of service is much appreciated. Thank you to the Catholic Community Foundation for your generosity.
One of our first donors fifty-six years ago was the Catholic Arch Diocese of Milwaukee. After fifty-six years we are still going strong – putting braille, tactile, and audio materials into the hands of blind and print disabled individuals. We couldn’t continue to fulfill ABLE’s mission without the support of generous funders such as the Catholic Community Foundation.
