Support Us

Carlos is one of thousands of people who rely on ABLE for access to printed materials.

ABLE’s braille, tactile, and audio services are made possible through donors like you. Without your financial support, we would not be able to put materials into the hands of individuals with print disabilities. We receive no government support, so we especially rely on the generosity of those who share our vision that everyone should have access to the printed word.

My husband and I have witnessed firsthand many of the amazing things that ABLE does for people of all ages with sight disabilities. We can’t think of a better place to share some of what we have been blessed to receive than with a group whose goal is to help those who can benefit from this unique challenge.

Make a Planned Gift

Planned gifts are a powerful way to leave a lasting legacy at ABLE. When you choose to make a planned gift, you are investing in ABLE’s mission.

Making ABLE a planned gift is easy.

There are a number of ways you can make a planned gift to ABLE:

  • With a bequest of a specific dollar amount in your will
  • Through a residuary bequest in your will, in which ABLE receives all or a percentage of the remainder of your estate
  • With a specific or residuary gift in your revocable trust or living trust
  • As a beneficiary of your retirement account or life insurance policy
  • As a beneficiary of your charitable remainder trust, charitable lead trust, or gift annuity
  • With a TOD (transfer on death) designation on your bank account or brokerage account

Sample bequest language

I give to Audio & Braille Literacy Enhancement, Inc., a not-for-profit corporation located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, (the sum of XX dollars) or (XX% of the remainder of my estate) to be used for its general purposes.

IRA Rollover Opportunity

If you are 70 ½ or older, you can roll up to $100,000 from your IRA to ABLE.

  • Your gift will count against your required minimum distribution for the year.
  • Your taxable income will be reduced, even if you do not itemize deductions.
  • You will not be subject to the 50% limitation of charitable gifts.

To make an IRA rollover gift, simply contact your IRA custodian and request that an amount be transferred to ABLE by wire or check. Gifts for the tax year must be made by December 31st of that year. Checks must be payable to Audio & Braille Literacy Enhancement, Inc. and sent to the following address:

Audio & Braille Literacy Enhancement, Inc.
Attn: Cheryl Orgas
Central Library Building
803 West Wells Street
